Samedi 16 mai 2026, la Place des Nations à Genève s’est transformée en vaste point de rencontre populaire et solidaire à l’occasion du « Walk the Talk – The Health for All Challenge », organisé pour les 75 ans de l’Organisation mondiale de la Santé.
Entre familles, sportifs du dimanche, employés internationaux, étudiants et simples citoyens, plusieurs générations ont marché côte à côte sous les couleurs de la santé pour tous.
Dès les premières heures de la matinée, une atmosphère chaleureuse et cosmopolite régnait autour des Nations. Des dizaines de langues se mêlaient dans les allées tandis que les participants prenaient le départ dans une ambiance détendue, entre musique, sourires et encouragements.
Au-delà de l’événement sportif, la journée portait surtout un message humain : rappeler que l’accès à la santé reste un droit fondamental. Certains marchaient pour soutenir un proche malade, d’autres pour célébrer les progrès médicaux ou simplement partager un moment collectif au cœur de Genève internationale.
Sous le célèbre jet d’eau de la Place des Nations et les drapeaux flottant devant les institutions internationales, les silhouettes se croisaient dans une lumière printanière douce, donnant à la manifestation des airs de grande fête citoyenne.
Entre discussions, stands de prévention et moments de convivialité, Genève a une nouvelle fois rappelé son rôle de ville du dialogue et de l’engagement humanitaire.
Parmi les personnalités présentes lors du « Walk the Talk – The Health for All Challenge » à Genève figuraient notamment Alfonso Gomez, maire de la Ville de Genève, ainsi que Nicolas Walder.
Tous deux ont rappelé, dans leurs prises de parole, l’importance d’une santé accessible à toutes et tous, mais aussi le rôle symbolique de Genève comme capitale internationale du dialogue humanitaire et sanitaire.
Le maire de Genève, Alfonso Gomez, a insisté sur la nécessité de préserver les valeurs de solidarité et de coopération internationale dans un monde fragilisé par les crises sanitaires, sociales et climatiques.
Des représentants de World Health Organization ont également pris la parole pour rappeler que, 75 ans après la création de l’organisation, le combat pour une santé universelle reste plus actuel que jamais. Entre prévention, accès aux soins et sensibilisation du public, cette journée voulait rapprocher les institutions internationales des citoyens.
Sous les drapeaux des Nations et dans une ambiance familiale et multiculturelle, les discours ont laissé place aux échanges, aux sourires et à une marche symbolique où chacun avançait au même rythme, au-delà des frontières et des générations.

On Saturday, May 16, 2026, Geneva’s Place des Nations became a large gathering point for solidarity and community during the “Walk the Talk – The Health for All Challenge”, organized to mark the 75th anniversary of the World Health Organization.
Families, casual runners, international employees, students and local residents walked side by side beneath the colors of “Health for All,” turning the heart of International Geneva into a vibrant symbol of unity.
From the early hours of the morning, a warm and cosmopolitan atmosphere filled the Nations district. Dozens of languages echoed through the crowd as participants gathered in a relaxed setting of music, smiles and encouragement.
Beyond the sporting aspect of the event, the day carried a deeply human message: healthcare remains a fundamental right. Some participants walked in support of loved ones affected by illness, others to celebrate medical progress, and many simply to share a collective moment in the heart of Geneva’s international community.
Under the flags lining the Place des Nations and in the soft spring light, silhouettes crossed paths in an atmosphere that felt both festive and meaningful, giving the event the spirit of a true civic celebration.
Through conversations, prevention stands and moments of togetherness, Geneva once again reaffirmed its role as a city of dialogue, humanitarian engagement and international cooperation.
Among the personalities present were Alfonso Gomez, Mayor of the City of Geneva, and Nicolas Walder, Swiss National Councillor and member of the Green Party.
In their speeches, both highlighted the importance of accessible healthcare for all and emphasized Geneva’s symbolic role as a global center for humanitarian and public health dialogue.
